The Charlotte Hornets have apologized for appearing to gift a PlayStation 5 to a child during an on-court skit, only to later take it back from him off camera.

A 13-year-old was initially given the gaming system in the on-court promotion during Monday night's game against the 76ers

One recipient walked away with a PS5 system, but wasn’t allowed to keep the actual gift and instead received a jersey, according to a social media post. In a statement, the Hornets admitted the error and insisted they will do whatever they can to smooth things over and enhance the fan’s next visit to a game.
