BOSTON – South Station was packed with people throughout the day Monday, as many Amtrak customers watched in frustration while their trains were canceled or indefinitely delayed. One train from Roanoke, for example, was delayed in its arrival by 265 minutes without explanation.

Amtrak passengers faced delays of 30 to 60 minutes Sunday night because of power line issues along the Northeast Corridor, which provides service between Washington, D.C., and Boston, officials said.

Downed wires on tracks in Philadelphia are impacting service in the Northeast corridor. Equipment unavailability is impacting and canceling certain trains between Boston and New York. According to Amtrak, passengers can see delays of at least 3o to 60 minutes if they travel to DC from Boston.
