Russian President Vladimir Putin was welcomed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday during a visit aimed at deepening economic, defence and energy ties.
PM Modi and Putin noted the importance of further discussion on the second site in India for a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), with Russia also assuring to make the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant completely operational.
The US president had hit India with a further 25% tariff over its purchases of Russian oil, arguing it was funding the war in Ukraine.
The trip to Moscow is the second since last year for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is widely considered Putin’s closest partner among all EU leaders.
