Pope Francis has extended his prayers to those who died and others, who were injured when a roof collapsed at a nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the roof fell on over 300 people in the Jet Set night club.

While blessing the efforts of hospital and emergency crews caring for the injured, the Pope also invoked the help of the Mother of God for those mourning the loss of loved ones.

Pope Francis prayed for the victims of a nightclub disaster in the Dominican Republic that claimed more than 200 lives and has provoked mourning across the Caribbean country.
