Poland demands all citizens leave Russia's near neighbour as Putin ramps up WW3 fears
Poland has demanded all of its citizens leave Belarus as the country's government warned of a "drastic deterioration" in security.
"We will do more to ensure that our people are safe," Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told Newsweek.
Responding to President Trump, Poland's leader said, "we would also wish that the drone attack on Poland was a mistake. But it wasn't."
Military officials in Poland say the country's airspace was "repeatedly violated by drone-type objects" in the overnight hours amid Russian strikes on targets in Ukraine.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte called Russia's behavior "reckless" after several drones from the country crossed into Poland, violating NATO airspace.
Poland said Wednesday that it and its NATO allies had shot down Russian drones that violated Polish airspace in what it called an "act of aggression" as Russia launched aerial attacks on Ukraine.
