The main gate of Nellis Air Force Base closed for a time on Wednesday after a shooting overnight. Authorities say there is no continued threat to the public.
Someone fired rounds at the main gate around 12:28 a.m., according to LVMPD. As a result, the main gate and visitor's center will be closed temporarily on Wednesday, Sept. 24, until further notice.
An unidentified gunman opened fire at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada around 12.30am Wednesday. He was shot in the leg by Air Force security officers.
