The U.S. forecasting agency was working on streamlining itself for the modern era. Days away from hurricane season, it’s now struggling to keep offices open.
Recreationists at Lake Mead and Lake Mohave have been warned about hazardous weather conditions on Friday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a lake wind advisory for both lakes, with winds forecast to reach between 20 and 25 miles per hour, and gusts of up to 35 mph. It added that waves of between one and three feet are expected.
