A fire that broke out aboard a container ship docked at the Port of Los Angeles was nearly contained by Saturday afternoon.

Los Angeles fire officials said the fire started on a lower level of the container ship which was later moved away from the dock.

Twenty-three crew members were on board the docked ship when it caught fire, all were safely removed and accounted for.
