Karonga District Council has approved a K720 billion District Development Plan (DDP) to achieve inclusive growth, environmental sustainability, social equity and economic resilience from 2024 to 2030.

According to the development plan, 56.2% of households are making less than $50,000 per year, and 42.4% of those homes are making less than $25,000 annually.
