Nova Scotia RCMP said two hikers had to be rescued from Cape Split and treated for exhaustion after they left a main trial to go exploring Saturday evening.

Erin Handspiker, from Dartmouth, was rescued off Cape Split along Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy on July 9. Her rescue was one of three major ones at the popular hiking destination since May.
