Celtics star Jaylen Brown fined $35K for public condemnation of refs after Spurs loss
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was fined a whopping $35K by the NBA for criticizing the referees to the media (and on social media).
Whenever the world has undervalued Brown, he has clapped back by elevating his production. However, it appears that in the 2025-26 season, JB is on a mission to prove that he should be regarded as arguably the best two-way guard in the NBA.
Brown has been keeping the Celtics afloat this season, and he had an amazing December, where he averaged 30 points per game in the month. Outside of that, he's been playing well all season, and some have even started to put him in MVP conversations, including Draymond Green.
Monday night’s 98–96 loss to the Indiana Pacers dropped the Celtics to 8-12 in “clutch” games (defined as games within five points with under five minutes remaining). Those 12 losses account for 80 percent of Boston’s 15 defeats this season.
