COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Turnovers from South Carolina held them back in a tough loss, falling to Clemson 28-14 in the Palmetto Bowl. South Carolina hasn’t beaten Clemson in Williams-Brice since 2013. After Saturday’s win, the streak will continue.
South Carolina finished the season on a disappointing note Saturday, suffering a loss to Clemson in the Palmetto Bowl.
It got to the point Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney could barely watch the tape anymore from last year's loss to rival South Carolina, an agonizing ending where the Tigers had led throughout until LaNorris Sellers' 20-yard burst to the end zone with just more than a minute to play.
Clemson scored midway through the quarter thanks to a field goal from Hauser. South Carolina punted on two of its three offensive drives in the third quarter. The final Gamecock possession of the quarter ended with Sellers being picked off on a pass to the end zone.
Clemson generated four turnovers to beat South Carolina in Week 14. The win helped the Tigers end the regular season on a four-game win streak.
