The Capitals will honor defenseman John Carlson for hitting 700 career points in a pregame ceremony prior ahead of their Feb. 9 game against Utah Hockey Club.

WASHINGTON -- Logan Thompson made 19 saves, and the Washington Capitals extended their point streak to eight games with a 3-0 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Capital One Arena on Tuesday.

After struggling to build and sustain momentum at 5-on-5, the Capitals came out last night and put up a solid, complete effort in a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks, handing them their second shutout loss in three games in the process.

John Carlson and Martin Fehervary both took maintenance days, and the lines will remain the same heading into Thursday's tilt with the Ottawa Senators. All the while, the team got encouraging news on the injury front.
