Cybertruck emerged as the bestselling electric pickup in the U.S. over Q2 2024 as production ramped up and the company focused on fulfilling the backlog of orders.

The vehicle closely resembles the real cybertruck, but a side view quickly reveals it’s a replica and not a Tesla creation.

Tesla is offering discounts on its Cybertruck electric vehicle following a report that production has slowed at Tesla's factory. The latest model Cybertrucks feature price cuts of up to $1,600, bringing the total to $72,890, with as much as $3,410 off for demo units (for a total of $74,030), as listed on its website.

Brand new inventory of the Cybertruck is already being marked down by well over $1,000 each after just one quarter of its entry AWD version having gone on sale.

The electric vehicle maker is offering discounts of $1,600 up to $3,270 on 12 Cybertruck models, according to its website. The least-expensive Cybertruck is currently available for as low as $78,390, down from about $80,000 previously. CNBC reported Wednesday that the discounts started this week.

As for the confiscated pickup, reportedly, the police department noted that, “The Tesla Cybertruck is not road-legal in the UK and does not hold a certificate of conformity.” In short, the vehicle has not passed safety tests to be legal in the country, undoubtedly a bummer for the owner and anyone else who want to drive a Cybertruck in the UK.

Slowing sales of Tesla’s Cybertruck are pushing the automaker to reposition its workforce and change its pricing strategies.
