New Orleans will hand the reins to first-year quarterback Spencer Rattler ahead of the Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16, the team announced Thursday.
Spencer Rattler should be given the opportunity to audition to be the New Orleans Saints quarterback in 2025 over the next three weeks. A report came out Tuesday morning saying Derek Carr returning to the lineup was unlikely.
Rattler and the Saints’ decision to go for the win stemmed from solid logic. Heading into Sunday, New Orleans had just a 1% chance of reaching the postseason. Going up against a superior foe, in front of your home crowd, having just climbed back from a 17-point hole, there is really not much to lose in putting it all on the line for one more play.
