Apple has announced Final Cut Camera 2.0, its free camera app for use with video editor Final Cut Pro, bringing with it a series of improvements to take advantage of the iPhone 17 range's new features.
The base model iPhone 17 is the consumer version, with advanced features. However, it lacks the professional focus of the Pro and Pro Max. The Pro features a more powerful chip, enabling advanced camera systems, enhanced mobile gaming, and Apple Intelligence. The Pro Max offers storage up to 2TB.
When setting up a new iPhone with iOS 26, Apple includes a simple toggle for turning off the advanced Camera Control features without digging through the Settings app. The complex stuff is still on by default, but the addition of the toggle is a clear acknowledgment that user feedback isn’t quite what Apple expected.
Final Cut Camera, available for free on the App Store, has been updated to version 2.0, adding support for ProRes RAW. The app is designed to leverage the camera system of iPhone to bring professional filmmaking tools into the hands of even more people.
