Nolan and Universal Pictures first announced that the acclaimed director, 54, would adapt Homer's The Odyssey into a film using new IMAX technology back in December. The famous story follows the King of Ithaca, Odysseus, on a 10 years-long journey home after the mythological Trojan War.

Tom Holland got to tell Zendaya that Christopher Nolan wanted her for a role in "The Odyssey." During an interview with "Access Hollywood," Holland explained that his own meeting with "The Odyssey" director led to him being asked if Zendaya would be open to a part as well.

Consider The Odyssey’s month-long promotional campaign and you might assume Zendaya had a leading role in the film. Not only did she do countless major interviews, but she dominated social media after each premiere thanks to her signature “method dressing”.

Tom Holland has shared on Instagram a video of his first day on the set of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." The superhero film is set for release on July 31, 2026.
