Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their quest to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons. Standard Sport reported last month that the Blues have been exploring the terms of a potential deal to bring the Netherlands international to Stamford Bridge.

Monday saw progress made on a lot of deals. Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is expected to head to Everton after a £29million fee (including add-ons) was agreed between the clubs. That switch comes just a year after he completed a £30million transfer from boyhood club Leicester City.

Chelsea are hoping to complete the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig this summer, but negotiations remain ongoing to find an agreement.
