Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Riley Leonard voiced a very straightforward message to head coach Marcus Freeman about how he was utilized during the national championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Having led the Fighting Irish to victory in the Orange Bowl, Freeman will be the first Black head coach in the national championship game for Division I FBS football — an achievement more than 150 years in the making.

Freeman, who is bi-racial with Black and South Korean parents, already staked a place as the first such head coach to lead a team to the national final.
