The big fella suffered a right sinus fracture in a Dec. 13 loss to the Indiana Pacers and was originally expected to be out for this contest. However, he is progressing quicker than expected and the Sixers have upgraded him in this matchup.

Embiid, who suffered the injury on Dec. 13 against the Indiana Pacers, was previously slated to return against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 23.

Embiid, ruled out for a week after a sinus fracture last Friday, was listed as questionable but passed a late fitness test.

The Sixers grabbed their ninth win of the season on Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets but face a massive challenge just 24 hours later facing off with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
