The grocery store said this week that it will transition in-store restaurants across the midwest to its Hy-Vee Market Grille brand. Fans of the casual dining burger chain Wahlburgers will be disappointed to know that a majority of its locations will shutter within the next two weeks.

Hy-Vee announces it will close its remaining in-store Wahlburgers and convert them back to Market Grille restaurants.

Potter joins Grocery Outlet from The Fresh Market, where he has been CEO and a board member since March 2020. For its part, The Fresh Market appointed Brian Johnson president and CEO, also effective Feb. 3. Johnson has been COO at The Fresh Market since 2020, having brought more than 30 years of experience to that role.

Hy-Vee, Inc. announced on Monday that it will transition all its in-store restaurant locations across the Midwest to Hy-Vee Market Grille locations with a brand-new menu that primarily focuses on breakfast and burgers.

All of the grocer’s restaurants will introduce new menus with lower prices as the chain ends its partnership with the hamburger chain.

Zoom in: That includes nine restaurants that operate inside of Twin Cities stores. The move will leave the metro area with just one location — inside of Mall of America. The Wahlburgers will take over that restaurant, which Hy-Vee operates, according to Restaurant Business.
