EDense fog in Delhi has disrupted flights and worsened air quality, with India’s weather office issuing an orange alert

At least 313 flights departing from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were delayed on Friday morning amid dense fog and zero visibility, according to flight monitoring website Flightradar24.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius, 0.9 notches below normal, while the air quality was recorded in the severe category.

Delhi enveloped in dense fog with temperatures dropping, flight delays, severe air quality, and increased homeless shelter occupancy.

Delhi faced a foggy morning with visibility near zero, causing over 100 flight delays and disrupting train services. The IMD recorded a minimum temperature of 7°C, while AQI plunged to a hazardous 409.

Dense fog and severe cold conditions have gripped Delhi and parts of North India, wreaking havoc.
