Sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department called the use of generative AI a “game-changer” and “a concerning moment” and said the department was sharing information with other law enforcement agencies.

Nearly a week after a chilling New Year’s Day attack outside President-elect Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel, the police have revealed that the attacker used generative AI tools, including ChatGPT to plan the blast.

The highly decorated US army veteran Matthew Livelsberger, who exploded a Tesla Cybertruck outside Donald Trump’s Vegas hotel, used ChatGPT to help plan the attack that he called a ‘wake-up call’.
