The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday afternoon that all non-emergency phone lines for the fire department and Emergency Management are not working.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday afternoon that all non-emergency phone lines for the fire department and Emergency Management were not working.

Clay Fire initially started 5 p.m. Jan. 21 in Riverside County. After being active for three days, it has burned 39 acres. As of Friday evening, 98% of the fire was brought under containment by a crew of 50 firefighters. The cause of it remains under investigation.

The Coventry Township Fire Department experienced an outage with its emergency phone lines and township business phone lines Wednesday evening, but as of 8:30 p.m., service was restored. 911 continued to operate and call into the Summit County dispatch center as needed during the service interruption,
