The activity, per ReliaQuest, is the handiwork of a Chinese state-sponsored hacking group called Flax Typhoon, which is also tracked as Ethereal Panda and RedJuliett. According to the U.S. government, it's assessed to be a publicly-traded, Beijing-based company known as Integrity Technology Group.
A breach at U.S.-based cybersecurity company F5 has been blamed on state-backed hackers from China, two people briefed on the investigation said on Thursday.
The security incident was filed to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by the company, F5, Inc., on October 15, and discloses the nature and severity of the issue. F5 says that, in August, it "learned that a highly sophisticated nation-state threat actor had gained unauthorized access to certain Company systems."
