This past offseason, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores interviewed for head coaching vacancies with the Bears, Jets, and Jaguars. He didn't end up landing any of those jobs, but his success in Minnesota made him a prominent candidate around the league.
The Vikings offense has struggled quite a bit this season. Last year’s first round pick, J.J. McCarthy, finally made his debut after his rookie season was marred by injury. But further injuries and uneven performances from the de facto rookie have complicated things for Minnesota.
But defensive coordinator Brian Flores is familiar with Darnold and his game, and has a plan for the Vikings' defense to slow down the red-hot Seahawks. In his press conference leading up to the Seahawks game, Flores spoke to the press about the relationship he shares with Darnold and how he plans on defending the eighth-year veteran.
