At least six people were injured in Kyiv as Russia launched a drone strike on the capital in the early hours of Wednesday, city officials said.

Russia early Wednesday morning launched a drone strike on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, injuring no fewer than three people and damaging buildings in two districts. City officials said explosions boomed across the morning sky shortly after Ukraine’s air force warned of drones approaching the city.

The drone system is part of a "major fundraiser" for Ukraine's GUR spy agency, U.S.-based charity, Help Heroes of Ukraine, said in a statement.
