The Navy’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford, and its strike group have moved into the Caribbean region.

China has recently commissioned its most advanced warship, the aircraft carrier CNS Fujian, which is considered to rival its United States counterpart, USS Gerald R. Ford. Newsweek has emailed the U.S. Navy and the Chinese Foreign Ministry for comment.

The Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group, which includes the world’s largest aircraft carrier, has arrived in the Caribbean Sea, joining what has already been the biggest buildup of U.S. forces in the Western Hemisphere in decades.
