General Motors has expanded its recall for heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks due to an issue with tailgates potentially opening unexpectedly.
The Department of Justice released details of a settlement with engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. that includes the mandatory recall. Cummins' total penalty for the violations tops $2 billion.
