To say “Alien: Earth” could have been a disaster would be overstating the case. I know people who feel that Ridley Scott’s 1979 original is the only “Alien” film worthy of the name. Even for them, 46 years of ostensibly lesser material have not lessened its appeal. This monster can endure a lot of punishment and keep coming, in other words.
