NHL is announcing the first and second quarter-century teams for each franchise that's existed since 2000, as voted by a panel of media, retired players and executives specific to that club. These players are judged to have been the best for their team in the past 25 years as the NHL world honors their accomplishments since the beginning of the new millennium.

The six players voted to each First Team will be on the ballot for the NHL All Quarter-Century Team that will be chosen via a fan vote that will start in February. Today, the First and Second Quarter-Century Teams for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

A couple names are obvious, by any measure, but surely there is at least some room for debate about who should be on the Pittsburgh Penguins’ quarter-century teams.
