According to California Lottery's website late Tuesday night, a ticket worth $1,512,372 was sold within the state. The $1.5 million ticket was sold at Village Wine and Spirits on South Victoria Avenue in Ventura. The news comes as Mega Millions held a drawing for the then-top prize of $497 million.

More than 330,000 other tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $10 to $50,000 in the drawing.

A winning ticket for Friday night’s drawing was purchased at the Wawa at 471 Kempsville Road, according to Virginia Lottery.
