The Colombian military is engaged in a daily battle with members of National Liberation Army (ELN), a FARC offshoot, and other dissidents who refused to accept the decision to sign a peace deal.
The ELN has been fighting ex-rebels of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia guerrilla group, or FARC, in a region known as Catatumbo, close to the border between Colombia and Venezuela.
The dissidents are pulling back in the region to avoid confrontation with the ELN, said both the EMC and the government's negotiator in peace talks with the former FARC rebels, Camilo Gonzalez.
