New York hired Glenn, most recently the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, as their next head coach, ahead of his scheduled in-person interview with New Orleans. It’s a five-year deal, according to league sources.

Aaron Glenn is no longer the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. Glenn successfully landed the head coaching position with the New York Jets after a very strong, quick courtship with the team where he began his NFL playing career.

Johnson was hired this week as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears. Another member of Campbell's staff in Detroit, defensive line coach Terrell Williams, is going to the New England Patriots as their new defensive coordinator. And now, it appears, Glenn is heading to New York.
