DUBAI, United Arab Emirate (AP) — Israel launched airstrikes early Monday targeting central and western Iran in response to missile fire from Tehran, attacks that threatened to drag the wider Middle East back into a regional war.
Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt, have been working to help bridge differences between the U.S. and Iran and encourage efforts aimed at reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The number of places where people were shot initially raised concerns that there could be multiple, coordinated attackers.
