More than 200,000 protesters have demonstrated in Munich against far-right extremism ahead of the German general election

Protests against Germany's far right drew 200,000 people in the southern city of Munich on Saturday, police said. Organizers put the number of demonstrators in the Bavarian capital at some 320,000. Protesters flocked to the Theresienwiese,

Activists said Saturday they hoped the rally also would draw attention to other far-right parties in Europe and the new administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Demonstrations against right-wing extremism, hate and social marginalization are set to take place in numerous cities across Germany this weekend. Organizers in Munich say they expect around 75,000 participants on Saturday,
