The new version of War of the Worlds has been massacred by critics, but it's drawing attention to an overlooked miniseries.

If we can commend Amazon Prime Video's War of the Worlds remake for anything, it's the accuracy of the tagline. "It’s worse than you think," the trailer proclaimed; and yeah, it really is.

The recruiting video alone puts it near the top of the list of movies about the military in the future, to say nothing of the political overtones and satire of the rest of the movie.
