A fire at a New York City apartment building left at least one person dead and 15 injured, Mayor Mamdani said Saturday.

A significant fire and gas explosion occurred in a 17-story residential building in The Bronx, New York, early Saturday, leading to a swift and extensive emergency response.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office confirms there has been an explosion in Willow River. They are asking the public to avoid the areas northwest of Willow River.

The fire started on the 15th floor of the Boston Secor Houses. The FDNY was on the scene at the time to investigate a possible gas leak in the building.
