Hundreds of people, bearing signs and shouting “Stop the Coup,” gathered on Boston Common on a frigid Wednesday afternoon to protest President Donald Trump’s and billionaire Elon Musk’s rapid reshaping of the federal government. “This is a fascist takeover by an oligarch,” one protester said. “It’s just outrageous.”

The demonstration was one of many across the country, joining the national 50501 Movement, which promoted 50 protests in 50 states in one day.

The Republican-led U.S. Senate, in a bid to overcome party infighting over President Donald Trump's agenda, will begin moving forward as early as next week on a $300 billion, four-year plan to fund his border security and military priorities.

A month into the new Congress, House and Senate Republicans are still not on the same page on how to tackle President Donald Trump’s agenda raising the possibility the two chambers could be on a collision course that imperils Trump’s domestic priorities in the first months of his second term.
