A Republican lawmaker was the 218th signature on a discharge petition, forcing a House floor vote on a bill to restore collective bargaining rights.

New York Republican Reps. Mike Lawler and Nick LaLota signed a discharge petition Monday to force a House vote on a bipartisan bill to protect federal workers’ collective bargaining rights after the measure was stalled last week by a spat between Lawler and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

The House of Representatives advanced a bill to end the government shutdown through a key test vote on Wednesday and will weigh the measure itself later this evening.

Wisconsin is one of two states in the U.S. that have not taken the federal government’s postpartum Medicaid expansion.
