Washington, D.C.'s NFL franchise is set to return to the nation's capital as part of an agreement between the organization and the District of Columbia government to build a new stadium.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said the state made a “good faith” and “very strong” offer to keep the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover.

Maryland leaders said the Washington Commanders are committed to ensuring Prince George’s County will not be left with “blight” when the NFL team leaves its current stadium.
