The euro struggled to recoup its steep losses on Tuesday as investors sobered up to the fact that terms of the trade deal between the U.S. and the European Union favoured the former and hardly lifted the economic outlook of the bloc.

President Donald Trump is meeting with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Turnberry, Scotland, this morning to discuss trade. The U.S. and United Kingdom reached an agreement on tariffs in May. Yesterday, Trump announced a trade deal with the European Union that would set tariffs at 15% for U.S. imports of most European goods.

DETROIT -- Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez threw a brief jolt into the trade market when he left Monday’s game in the ninth inning after being hit in the right hand. Suárez was struck by a 96 mph fastball from Detroit Tigers reliever Will Vest and quickly exited the game with an athletic trainer.

Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has left for his second visit to the United States in two weeks to finalise a trade deal with Washington, his office said late on Monday.

Questions, critiques and discrepancies are hanging over the framework agreement, but investors seem to view it as a win all the same.

"We still believe the most likely outcome is slow growth and firm inflation: Not a recession, but a backdrop where the adverse effects of trade and immigration controls on growth outweigh the boost from deregulation and fiscal largesse," Morgan Stanley strategist Michael Zezas wrote.

US stocks were mixed Monday and the S&P 500 eked out a record high for the sixth day in a row as investors digested the announcement of a trade deal between Washington and Brussels.
