The Salvation Army serving the area residents of Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor Counties hosted a Christmas dinner Wednesday at the Hope Cafe on Scott Avenue in Morgantown.

The true meaning of Christmas is different for everyone, but in Waco, the Salvation Army is sharing its Christmas spirit by serving the community. “for us, the Christmas spirit is just sharing with others.

The Salvation Army brought strangers together in Milwaukee to feel that sense of community too with the 35th annual Christmas Family Feast on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

For nearly 50 years, the Salvation Army has been serving free Christmas meals in downtown San Diego. Although the meals, people and setting change, the goal stays the same. “You just take what you receive and give it back to someone else, and that's what's great,” said Larry Smoots, Salvation Army volunteer of the year.

Christmas is a time for positivity, giving, and spending time with loved ones. However, not everyone in Roanoke has loved ones or even a home to spend Christmas with. Rescue Mission Ministries was there for those people and held a special Christmas feast for the less fortunate.

Thirty-five years into the annual tradition, the Salvation Army's Christmas Day Feast remains a community favorite among volunteers and attendees alike.
