At the age of 53 years old, Lawrence Moten passed away. He was one of the best basketball players in Syracuse University history.

The college basketball world is mourning the death of Syracuse legend Lawrence Moten, who died Tuesday at 53 years old.

Lawrence Moten, one of Syracuse’s most influential college basketball players in the 1990s and known as “Poetry in Moten,” died Tuesday.

It is no surprise that SU's two returning scholarship players, J.J. Starling and Donnie Freeman, will represent Orange basketball at the multi-day event next week in Charlotte.

Adrian Autry and the SU men’s basketball team will host Saint Joseph’s on Thursday, December, 11th at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game was originally scheduled to be played as a neutral-site game in Las Vegas.

Inside Carolina reported earlier this offseason that UNC has $14 million tied up in spending on players for this upcoming men’s basketball season. We don’t know exactly where that ranks, but it probably ranks a good deal higher than North Carolina will in the preseason AP Poll.
