It's beginning to look a lot like much of the Northeast will see a new round of snowfall on Christmas Eve. Ahead of the storm, Sunday, Dec. 22, will remain sunny but bitterly cold as Arctic air continues to grip the region,

Mild weather on Christmas Day will bring very few chances of snow across the country. The best spots for a white Christmas with fresh snow will be across the Rocky Mountains. Rain is expected to continue in portions of the South, while the West will get a brief reprieve during the day before another atmospheric river streams inland.

Even though the rain wasn't that heavy this weekend, it was enough to keep things wet. And although this week will have some breaks, overall the wet weather pattern will continue. Some patchy fog is possible in the morning,
