The Polaris Slingshot has been causing arguments - and providing a ton of fun - for a decade now. It returns in 2025 with more power, more features and the same sci-fi style.

The Polaris Slingshot is an odd vehicle because it’s a roofless trike. The lack of doors and the small windshield provide an open-air experience similar to riding a motorcycle. However, occupants sit inside the vehicle and operate it like a car.

Polaris Inc. (NYSE: PII) this week has unveiled the 2025 lineups for its on-road vehicles, Slingshots and Indian Motorcycles.

On the performance front, the 2.0-liter ProStar four-cylinder engine has been retuned to deliver a “modest bump in horsepower and a broader torque curve.” Thanks to the changes, the S and SL are now rated at 180 hp (134 kW / 183 PS) and 129 lb-ft (175 Nm) of torque. That’s a small, but welcome increase of 2 hp (1 kW / 2 PS) and 9 lb-ft (12 Nm).
