In the crisp morning sunshine, King Charles smiled in Sandringham as he made his first appearance ahead of the festivities.

It was no secret that Princess Diana detested the royal family’s annual Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, and a new program features royal biographer Ingrid Seward and longtime royal photographer Arthur Edwards revealing that Diana used to duck out of Sandringham as quickly as she could to get back to London.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be at Sandringham with the Royal Family this year, marking the sixth year they have been absent from the celebrations.
