Portland, Oregon, was the site of violent riots in 2020 under the first Trump administration, and is set to see a new crime crackdown initiative as federal officials converge on the city.

Hours ahead of credible reports of increased federal agents in Portland and before President Trump announced he was sending in federal troops to the city, one Oregon congresswoman introduced a bill to prevent the National Guard from being “used as a political tool for the White House.
