CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers are convening at the team's training facility in Camden, NJ for media day. It's the day where everybody gets involved and addresses the media to begin anew. For the Sixers, they certainly need new following a miserable 2024-25 season in which they finished 24-58 and were decimated by injuries.
Normally, media day would kick off with Nick Nurse and Daryl Morey addressing the room full of reporters with an opening statement before fielding questions from everybody. This time around, Joel Embiid snuck in and spoke for roughly 17 minutes, addressing some of the biggest storylines of the offseason.
"Can't get no worse than last year," George said Friday, according to PHLY's Kyle Neubeck. "That was a rock bottom type of season." The 76ers dealt with injuries to several key players before finishing with a 24-58 record last season, missing the playoffs for the first time since their 2016-17 campaign.
