The Athletic reported Monday that Rays owner Stuart Sternberg had an agreement in principle with Jacksonville-based developer Patrick Zalupski.
Stuart Sternberg has struck a deal in principle to sell the Rays to a group headed by Jacksonville developer Patrick Zalupski, The Athletic reports.
The team is set to be sold to a group led by Patrick Zalupski, CEO and founder of Dream Finders Homes, for approximately $1.7 billion.
A deal to purchase the team from Stuart Sternberg is in place, with a September closing possible. But Sternberg would remain in control until the season ends.
